Rodrigo Sorogoyen (Madrid) is a feature film director and screenwriter. He studied Cinematographic Script at the Escuela de Cinematografía de la Comunidad de Madrid (ECAM). In 2008 he co-directed his first feature film, a comedy called “8 Citas”.

In 2013 he presented “Stockholm”, the first film he both wrote and directed, followed by “Que Dios Nos Perdone” (2016), the short film “Madre” (2017) and “El Reino” (2018).

“Stockholm” was awarded a Goya and had two further nominations, including Best New Director. “Que Dios Nos Perdone” won a Goya Award and had another six nominations, including Best Film, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.

“Madre” won the Goya for best short film in 2018 and was nominated at the Academy Awards for best short film (live action) in 2019.

In 2019 “El Reino” won seven Goya Awards, including Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.

Rodrigo is currently editing his latest feature film “Madre”.
