Rodrigo Sorogoyen (Madrid) is a director and screenwriter of feature films. He studied Screenwriting at the Escuela de Cinematografía de la Comunidad de Madrid (ECAM). In 2013 he presented «Stockholm», the first film he wrote and directed at the same time, followed by «Que Dios Nos Perdone» (2016), the short film «Madre» (2017) and «El Reino» (2018). «Stockholm» was awarded a Goya and had two other nominations, including Best New Director. «Que Dios Nos Perdone» won a Goya and had six other nominations. «Mother» won the Goya for Best Short Film in 2018 and was nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Short Film (Live Action) in 2019. In 2019 «The Kingdom» won seven Goya Awards, including Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. His latest work «As Bestas» has won eight Goya Awards in 2023.
